Kid Actors Needed for "Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge"
Seeking kids and teens for "Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge". Please see the details below. About the project: In this parody of Dickens' Christmas classic, award-winning playwright Christopher Durang focuses on one of A Christmas Carol's most insignificant characters - Bob Cratchit's wife. Between her 21 children, her useless blob of a husband, and that whiney Tiny Tim, Mrs. Cratchit has had enough. The Ghost of Christmas Past (a sassy African-American woman with enough attitude to portray all three spirits) tries to show Scrooge his past, present, and future in order to change him, but her magic keeps malfunctioning, and she and Scrooge keep appearing in the present at the Cratchit's pathetic home. And to make matters worse, Scrooge and Mrs. Bob seem to be kindred souls falling in love. Additional info: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and no monologues are required. Sides and audition forms will be available at the audition, with room for an optional headshot. The first readthrough will be on November 4. Please note that most roles will require accent work, primarily British accents, as well as roles for Dutch and Irish accents. Many roles will be doubled with another. Looking for a diverse range of strong actors with good comedic timing. The show will run December 6 through 15 at The Weekend Theater! If interested, please apply.
