Voice Actors Needed in Upcoming Production "Locus"
Teen Voice Actors Needed for the Upcoming Production "Locus." Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: LOCUS: No Matter How Small follows the story of a bubble algae who struggles to stay relevant in a city governed by a self-absorbed media industry. His fear of risk made him settle for freelance assistant work rather than his own pursuits. The thing is, he promised his childhood friend that he’d make it big, one day. Suffocated by limbo, Roe goes on a walk and meets Zoa: a haggard street performer robbed of his tip cup. Roe spends the evening (and some money on drinks) with the starving artist, seeing much of himself in him. Before long, however, the duo is ambushed by armed delinquents who put Zoa next on their hit list, and with Roe intervening for his newfound friend, it’s only a matter of time before they cease to exist… in every sense of the word. Rate: Paid. Additional info: Due to the amateur nature of this project, it is considered Non-Union. You may audition for multiple roles, but to ensure an inclusive, diverse cast, you can only be approved for just one. As the direction is entirely remote and asynchronous. The director will be using a $CAD per line rate for Paid positions (which will be individually labeled for each character intro, below). Said rates are relatively flexible; feel free to discuss it with me via DMs or email, if need be. Experience is not necessary, so long as you have the right range, tone, and inflections for a character, plus solid/clean audio quality. Deadline is 12:00 AM, October 2, 2024 (GMT-7 / Pacific DST) The audition format can be any variation of the ABC approach, such as AABBCC or ABCABC. You may have as many takes as you need, but pick and submit your top 1-3 attempts per line. You may submit either a .zip file containing each individual line OR a single .mp3 file containing your best attempts of each line. If you’re doing the first approach above, please put all attempts of one line together in one audio file to avoid clutter. To give you a better idea of the execution the director seeks, please access the “Demo Recording” folder for the character you’re auditioning for. You can either follow my delivery as closely as possible or, if you’d like, freestyle at your own discretion (excuse my cringe voice, by the way). Each recording is marked by a number related to the line it is from. Some lines also have variants (e.g. 1A, 1B, etc.) to signify varied executions of that line. Note that some lines are marked with a (1/2) and (2/2) prefix. This means that they technically form one paragraph in the script, but are split for convenience (due to being too large to smoothly attempt in one go). Note: You also confirm that you are either 18+ or are a minor with approval from your parent(s) or guardian(s) to participate in this audition. See the attachment for details. If you're interested, please apply.
4 roles
~7 Lines at $4/line = $30 CAD (no. of lines subject to change. Voice foley cost to be accounted for during production) The owner of his namesake café, Chip is your quintessential Nexus sleazebag. How he acquired the funds, staffing and customer base is beyond understanding, given how insufferable he is towards others. Then again, you can’t deny his ambition, which is a trump card for anyone wanting to make it big in the city.
~12 Lines at $4/line = $50 CAD (roundup) (no. of lines subject to change. Voice foley cost to be accounted for during production) Enya is a bushy-tailed, beady-eyed salamander tomboy who, like many Nexus immigrants, wants to be an influencer. Her niche is in vlogging points of interest, so her people back home can have an informed opinion on the city. Sadly, she has become the Sweeper’s latest victim, with the rest of the population too focused on their own matters to even care.
~7 Lines at $4/line = $30 CAD (no. of lines subject to change) *(the character’s gender will be determined based on the confirmed VO) Unlike their superior, Pudge, the “Nexus Transfer Service Representative” at Roe’s hometown is quite pleasant and straightforward.
~11 Lines at $4/line = $50 CAD (roundup) (no. of lines subject to change) *(the character’s gender will be determined based on the confirmed VO) “Stay On Point”, perhaps the most memorable line for the average citizen. That’s because it’s the signing-off sentence for the city’s news anchor and radio sensation. Remove them, and you miss out on the latest, hottest takes, not to mention a huge chunk of what makes the metropolis so charming.
