Dance Opportunities for Kids in "Aladdin Jr." Show
Looking for kids ages 8 and up for the "Aladdin Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Reminder about a few important details: Oct 15 is the mandatory parent meeting running during the audition workshop. This is a great opportunity for kids to get constructive feedback on their audition materials. The audition workshop is not required but the parent meeting is mandatory and is the only way to get the participation packet for Aladdin Jr and get officially signed up to participate. A few tips: whether you are doing the monologes, songs, or choreography...you should be ACTING. Directors need to see you in character. Project, enunciate and be very aware of not fidgeting with your clothes and rocking back and forth. Practice In front of a mirror and have your parents video you so you can see what you look like when you perform. Don't obviously choreograph hand gestures and movements during your singing audition. What you need: -headshot (5x7) -deposit -an adventurous spirit! What to wear: To prepare you for auditions in the outside world, dress nicely, but it should also be clothes you can perform the dance in. Jazz shoes or tennis shoes for dance audition. No crocs. Flip flops or boots for safety. No dressing in costume as a character from the show. Please have your hair pulled back out of your face What to expect: (Those not auditioning for a lead role, skip 2-7) 1. Check in at the back cafe door. 2. Wait to be called into the music room through the cafe door. 3. Enter the music room with the audition form and headshot. 4. Greet the judges, smile, and give them your materials. 5. Tell them your name and what you’ll be singing. 6. Perform your monologue. 7. Go out the main music doors and wait outside the gym doors to be called into the dance audition in groups. 8. Complete your dance audition 9. Go back to the cafe, find your parents and tell them you were amazing and you deserve ice cream for being so brave! 10. Go enjoy your day and don’t stress! Some kids will get called back after lunch and some won’t. Directors have had major lead roles that they didn’t call back before because it was already cast so please don’t stress if you don’t get a callback. Everyone will be in the show and everyone will have a blast! See the attachment for the audition material. If interested, please apply.
