About the project: Beetlejuice JR is an adaptation of the cult-favorite 2019 musical designed especially for performers 18 and under. Adapted directly from the full-length Broadway hit musical Beetlejuice, the ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in this edgy junior adaptation of everyone’s favorite irreverent musical comedy based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film. Beetlejuice tells the hauntingly comedic yet touching story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, her new house is haunted by a recently deceased couple (Adam and Barbara Maitland) and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. Trying to help the newlydeads maintain possession of their home, Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse by calling his name thrice, allowing him to materialize and wreak havoc. The double-crossing specter, however, shows his true stripes…unleashing a Netherworld of pandemonium. Additional info: Please note: there is a production fee applied. The directors are on the hunt for young actors in grades 3-12 who are ready to bring some serious fun and creativity to the stage! Remember, this is not a babysitting service; the directors want enthusiastic performers eager to work hard and shine! Mark your calendars: Performances will take place from February 7-23, 2025, with rehearsals every Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30 PM, starting on October 5th.
