Casting Teen Performers for "Macbeth" Play
Casting performers ages 13-18 years old for 60 Minute Shakespeare: "Macbeth". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of madness and death. Additional info: Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No Shakespeare experience is required! Callbacks: September 26, 2024, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Note: The play contains mature themes. A Scottish general in the King’s army. Ambitious, powerful, easily corruptible. Wracked with guilt for his crimes but unwilling to give up what he has won through them.
Wife of Macbeth. Even more ambitious than her husband, she urges him to seize power by whatever means necessary. Her conscience ends up being her demise.
King of Scotland. A benevolent, noble ruler who is betrayed by Macbeth. He has two sons, Malcolm and Donalbain.
Duncan’s eldest son, heir to the throne. Flees to Scotland with his brother, then returns to retake his title.
Duncan’s son and Malcolm’s younger brother.
A Scottish general in the King’s army. A foil to Macbeth, Banquo has the same ambitions but pursues them without deceit and betrayal. Father of Fleance.
Banquo’s son. He escapes the murderers who kill his father, and is predicted to be the future king by the witches.
A Scottish nobleman who refuses to bow to Macbeth’s rule. He leads the crusade to put Malcolm on the throne. His wife and son are both killed by Macbeth’s orders.
Macduff’s wife, mother to their son.
Macduff’s son.
The Weird Sisters, worshipers of Hecate. Their predictions are what prompt Macbeth to begin his string of betrayals. They take delight in toying with mortals.
A Scottish nobleman. At first he joins Macbeth’s court, but switches sides once Macduff and Malcolm invade.
A Scottish nobleman. Often acts as a messenger between characters. He also joins forces with Macduff and Malcolm.
A Scottish nobleman who remains loyal to Duncan.
A Scottish nobleman who remains loyal to Duncan.

Earl of Northumberland, general of the English forces. He joins forces with Malcolm and Macduff. Father to Young Siward.
Siward’s son. He confronts Macbeth on the battlefield and is slain.
An officer attending Macbeth. One of Macbeth’s only allies by the end of the play.
Assigned to watch over Lady Macbeth, he is unable to prevent her death, though he remains loyal to the Macbeths.
Brings word of Macbeth’s victories on the battlefield to Duncan.
The drunk gatekeeper of Macbeth’s castle, he provides some comic relief to the play.
