Kids ages 6 and up are invited to audition for "Oliver" Production. Please see the details below. About the project: The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family. Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: AUDITION PROCEDURE: When you arrive, you will be asked to fill out an audition form. Please come with a list of your potential rehearsal conflicts. Directors will be seeing people in the order that they arrive and appointments are not necessary. Once you are called in, you will be asked to sing a song of your choice. Please come prepared with a selected song and bring sheet music with you. Directors prefer musical theatre songs that are not from the show. Piano accompaniment will be provided. You may also audition without a prepared song if you are interested in non-singing roles only. Some actors may be asked to read sides at auditions, which will be provided to you. Rehearsals will begin at the end of October. No prior experience is necessary. Many opportunities for families to participate together. Callbacks, if needed and by invitation only, will be held on Sunday, September 22 in the afternoon. (A3-E5): Oliver Twist is the young orphan around which the whole plot of the show revolves. Oliver is intelligent and kind, but he is not afraid to stand up for himself when the situation calls for it. He longs for a family and escapes to London to try to make his fortune – though he has no idea what adventures await him there!

Artful DodgerMale13-18 y.o.All ethnicities

(A3-E5): The Artful Dodger charming, upbeat, and charismatic. Though Dodger works for Fagin as a thief, he is the first person to show Oliver real kindness and gives him a place to belong.

BetFemale13-18 y.o.All ethnicities

(A3-D5): Bet is a friend of Nancy’s who shares her spirited nature and sense of adventure. Like Nancy, Bet has a kind heart but has fallen upon hard times.

CharlotteFemale13-18 y.o.All ethnicities

Charlotte works for the Sowerberrys. She is kinder to Oliver than the others in the Sowerberry home, but not by much.

Noah ClaypoleMale13-18 y.o.All ethnicities

Noah Claypole works for the Sowerberrys. He is a mean, nasty person who insults Oliver’s mother on purpose to upset him.

Charlie Bates is one of Fagin’s child-thieves. He is a great admirer of the Artful Dodger and an accomplished pocket-picker. Cast a good actor and singer in this fun role.
