Kid Audition For Singing in "Seussical" The Musical
Looking for kids and teens for "Seussical" The Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: This is the full, two-act version of the musical, not the one-act junior version. Performers must be available from November 17-24 for mandatory rehearsals and performances. Four performances are scheduled (11/22 @ 7 pm, 11/23 @ 2 pm and 7 pm, and 11/24 @ 2 pm). Those auditioning will learn a dance as part of a group with the choreographer. Then anyone auditioning for a non-ensemble role listed below will read with the director and sing with the music director, and should prepare a song of about 60 seconds in length, sung either with a karaoke-style track (no lead vocals) or unaccompanied. Bluetooth speakers will be provided for you to play your track. If the person auditioning is only interested in ensemble, they do not have to read or sing. No memorization is required at auditioning, and early and young readers will be assisted in the process. Performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition, even if it's your first show. Don't worry about being cut -- if you want to be in the show, you'll be in the show When applying please send the auditionee's name, let the teams know if you have a preferred date and/or time, and directors will do best to accommodate you. The essence of mischief, fun, and imagination. The Cat stirs things up, causes trouble, but always sets things right again, helping Jojo to discover the power of his own imagination as they create the story for the show together.
“Thinker,” a smart child with a wild imagination whose “thinks” get him into constant trouble. By the end of the show, he learns what it means to be a responsible member of his world, using the power and possibilities of his own “thinks.”
A gentle giant. Think of him as a big-hearted blue collar guy who is steadfast and responsible and always tries to do the right thing for his friends. He is imaginative and receptive to the world around him that he believes is a good world.
A very self-conscious bird who is aware that her one-feather tail isn’t perfect. She changes during the show from being neurotic and vain to no longer worrying about her looks and becoming a protective and caring partner to Horton.
Self-centered, selfish, and vain. She will never admit to her own flaws and manipulates everyone (especially Horton) into doing what she wants, although she does have one selfless moment when she gives her egg over to Horton. THE BIRD GIRLS are Mayzie’s harmony-singing entourage who appear frequently through the whole show.
Isn’t really sour at all. She’s just got a lot of attitude. She’s loud, brassy, and a lot of fun. THE YOUNG KANGAROO is just as brassy, but smaller.
Is bursting with pride at the military academy he runs, but he is not mean, just proud! He learns by the end of the show that making war might not be the right thing to do, and that adults can learn from children, too.
Tease, play pranks, and get a kick out of making mischief, sometimes at others’ expense (like Horton). They enlist VLAD VLADIKOFF to steal Horton’s clover that holds the Whos.
Is the judge when Horton is put on trial for talking to a speck, disturbing the peace, and loitering on an egg.
