Young Talent Wanted for "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever"
Seeking kids ages 6 and up to perform in "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" the musical. Please see the details below. About the project: The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world–so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There’s not supposed to be biting or cigar-smoking in Bethlehem, and while these kids have never even heard the Christmas story, they definitely have rewrites! Soon, everyone is calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. It’s up to the Bradleys and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this buoyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic. Additional info: All actors will be asked to sing a song and do a cold reading from the script. The song they will sing is “My Country ‘Tis of Thee (America) in a key that is comfortable and shows their best voice. The director will accompany this song for each actor’s audition. If an actor wants to prepare a song of their own, it must be a Broadway tune AND they must provide their own accompaniment via a recording or their own keyboard accompanist. Rehearsal Schedule: Selected roles and scenes may not be rehearsed every day. Rehearsals will start Monday - Thursday 4:30 - 6:15 beginning September 23 - November 14 The following Saturdays have a rehearsal scheduled: October 5, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.; October 26, 9:30-11:30 a.m.; November 9, 9:30-11:30 a.m..
