Young Talent Wanted for "The Wizard of Oz" Show
Audition for "The Wizard of Oz" Show. Looking for performers in 3rd grade and up. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Please Prepare: Vocal Audition: EITHER a one-minute song (approximately 32-bars) of your choosing OR for your convenience, directors provided options (link below) from which you may choose one to sing for your audition. There is sheet music and tracks provided to aid you in preparation. Teams want everyone to feel comfortable and confident to nail your audition so please choose the option that works best for you! 😀 If you choose to sing your own song, please bring sheet music with your cuts clearly marked, hole punched, and in a binder. If you choose to sing from the show, you only need to prepare one of the choices. Dance Audition: You can prepare for the dance audition ahead of time, by watching this video (both files in the drive are the same) Audition Process: 6:00-7:00 pm - Singing Auditions by GROUP 7:00-8:00pm - Dance Call: Please be prepared to dance from 7:00-8:00pm on the day of your scheduled audition appointment. Feel free to dress in clothing that allows you to move, and wear appropriate footwear you can dance in. 8:00-9:30 pm - Singing Auditions continue by GROUP Callbacks: Callbacks are by invitation, and actors asked for callbacks will be emailed digital copies of callback materials to prepare prior to callbacks. Physical copies of the materials will be available at callbacks, so you don’t have to print them out ahead of time. If interested, please apply.

(Mezzo/Mix) Young Kansas girl, earnest, expressive, and strong-willed, in search of something more. Very strong singer who moves well.
(Baritone) Plucky and clever in a pinch, even while lacking a brain. Strong actor with an honest quality. Excellent dancer – acrobatic skills a bonus. Strong baritone to F.
(Baritone/Tenor) Desperate for a heart. A kind-hearted romantic. Singing and dance required. Strong baritone / tenor to G.
(Baritone) A mix of bravado and cowardice. Should move well. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing. Vocal range: Strong baritone to F.
Character villain with an over-the-top stage presence. Excellent comic actress, has a killer cackle. Sings comically but doesn’t have to sound good.
Older father figure with an eccentric flair. Basic conjuring or sleight of hand a bonus. Non-Singing.
(Soprano) Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and beloved. Strong singer.
Aunt Em is demanding, but loves her niece. Non-singing.
Dorothy’s pleasant uncle. Non-singing.
(Baritone) Strong comic actor, big presence.
