Kid performers needed for theater auditions for "Matilda" the Musical. Please review the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Show Dates: November 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, & December 1, 2024 Potential Callbacks – Wednesday, September 11 @ 7:00 PM In the singing portion of the audition, the Music Director would like to hear you sing from the show. It is RECOMMENDED that you sing from the show for the character you are most interested in playing. While it is not required, this will give the team the best view of the character you want to play. Specific measure numbers and copies of the songs will be provided at a later time, but the Music Director would like you to be familiar with the entirety of the song for the audition, just in case. If you are not singing from the show, please bring sheet music in the correct key (16-32 bars) for the song you want to sing. Characters and songs are listed below: Matilda – “Quiet” Miss Honey – “My House” Miss Trunchbull – “The Smell of Rebellion” Mrs. Wormwood – “Loud” Mr. Wormwood – “Telly” Adult Roles (Mrs. Phelps / Escapologist / Acrobat / Rudolpho / Doctor/Ensemble / Etc.) – “Miracle” Bruce – “Revolting Children” Lavender / Michael Wormwood / Child Ensemble – “School Song” For the dance portion of the audition, please dress comfortably and be prepared to move. This includes all children and adults auditioning. If you are auditioning for or are interested in playing the role of Rudolpho, please be prepared to learn a short ballroom combination. For the reading portion of the audition, actors may be asked to read scenes from the script. All auditionees may not be asked to read from the script.
