Additional info: To audition, parent permission is required for everyone under 18 years old. Parents must accompany auditionees and sign a permission form. Kids ONLY (Ages 7 to 10 ONLY): Kid auditions will take approximately 2 hours and auditionees are not required to prepare anything ahead of time. They will read a short paragraph and participate in a quick movement exercise to assess dance skill level and willingness to take direction, make bold choices, and collaborate well with others. Some may be asked to stay or invited to callbacks the following day. Some auditionees may not be invited to stay or attend callback, but they may still be considered for final casting. Accommodations for readers with special needs like dyslexia or the need for a larger font can be made, just make a note to producers ahead of time when filling out an online audition form. Please remember to wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you feel comfortable moving in! Dancers ONLY (All ages 10 and up): The creative team is seeking 8-10 experienced dancers or actors who move well to play the Tornado, Poppies, Ozians, and Flying Monkeys. This will be a dance audition for trained movers. Performers who do not consider themselves to be strong movers/dancers should attend the General Audition starting at 12. ALL Dancers who wish to stay and read for a speaking role as well are welcome to participate in the General Audition at noon. General Audition (Ages 11- up): The creative team seeks an ensemble of performers who are not afraid to make bold choices, can successfully collaborate with others, and take direction well. Many roles can be played by any gender or age, so the team encourages auditionees to come ready to have fun and play. Audition readings will be from the script. Callbacks by Invitation Only: July 28, 2:00 -6:00 PM. REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Tuesdays/Thursdays (8/6-10/10) (6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) Saturdays (8/10 - 10/5) (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) No rehearsals are planned for Fall Break, October 7 - 11 Some Saturdays may extend to 4:00 p.m.; cast will receive advance notice. TECH WEEK: (NO CONFLICTS) 10/12-10/16 (Call Time 5:00 p.m.) PERFORMANCE DATES: (NO CONFLICTS) : October 17-27. CONFLICTS: Please review your schedule for the rehearsal/performance period (August 6 to October 27) before auditioning. Conflicts include school activities, other lessons, ACT/SAT, Band, Trumbauer, sports, college exams, work, work travel, and vacations (ie: Fall Break). You will need to list conflicts on your audition form and verify that they are your only known conflicts. No more than 3 conflicts are preferred.
