Casting Young Actors for "A Tale of Favorite Books" Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Casting team is currently in need of actors ages 8-12 to portray roles in "A Tale of Favorite Books" film. Please, see the details below. About the project: Eli, a timid young boy, discovers Marley, a young outgoing deaf girl, reading in his grandmother Alma's bookstore. After Marley accidentally leaves her notebook behind, Eli embarks on a quest to find her and return it, encountering numerous obstacles along the way. Discouraged upon returning home, Alma tries to cheer him up, but their spirits lift when a knock at the door reveals Marley, allowing Eli to return her notebook and forge a heartwarming connection. Rate: Non-union. Unpaid. Catering, craft service, IMDB credit, and demo reel footage provided. Additional information: STUDENT PRODUCTION. AUDITION: Self-tapes. SHOOT DATE(S): August 29th-31st. Age for Actor: 12 years old. Eli is a young boy who lives with his nose constantly buried in a book. Struggling to communicate with others, he has confined his world to the stories on the pages, finding solace and adventure within their covers. The outside world frightens him, making him anxious and withdrawn, and he trusts only his grandmother, Alma, who is both his guardian and the owner of a quaint bookstore, is Eli's anchor in a world that often feels overwhelming.
Note: Looking for a Deaf actress. Marley is the exact opposite of Eli. Despite being deaf, she embraces the world with boundless enthusiasm, determined to enjoy every moment to its fullest. However, this zest for life is not always reciprocated by other kids her age. Many of them don't make an effort to get to know her or simply shrug her off, making her feel isolated and misunderstood.
