Seeking performers ages 10 and above for the "The Phantom Tollbooth" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Milo, a very bored young boy whose bedroom is overflowing with toys, receives a strange package containing a make-believe tollbooth. As he drives through it in his toy car, he is transported to a magical world of imagination and allegory. Milo soon realizes that all is not well in the Lands Beyond, and he and his new companions, the watchdog Tock and the braggart beetle Humbug, set out on an epic journey to rescue the Princess's Sweet Rhyme and Pure Reason. Along the way, Milo learns valuable lessons that give him the ability to best each obstacle with knowledge and humor. Celebrating the value of education and appreciating the things of everyday life, with incredible plot twists and seemingly impossible tasks, The Phantom Tollbooth takes the audience on one of the greatest adventures ever told! Additional info: You will participate in a group exercise and will read selections from the script which will be assigned to you at that moment. Please wear clothing appropriate to move in. Prior to your audition, please complete the attached audition form and bring it with you or arrive early to complete a form available at the welcome table. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be held anywhere between the hours of 4 pm and 8:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Actors may not be called for every rehearsal or for the full length of a rehearsal until the final weeks. Some weekend rehearsals may be required. CONFLICTS: When listing conflicts on your audition form, please give exact days and times; we may be able to schedule around your pre-existing conflicts. ABSENCES: Cast members are allowed two (2) excused absences from rehearsal. NO UNEXCUSED ABSENCES WILL BE ALLOWED. Please note that no cast member may miss his/her scheduled rehearsal for any reason after October 1. TECHNICAL REHEARSALS: Before auditioning, please take note that Tech Week is scheduled for October 12-15. The specific schedule will be announced the week leading into these days. COSTUMES: You may be asked to provide supplementary costume pieces (such as undergarments and socks) and/or shoes. If interested, please apply.
