Casting Call for Boys and Girls for "The Little Mermaid"
Disney’s "The Little Mermaid". Actors 16+ are encouraged to audition. The role of Flounder is open to actors 8-16 years of age, to play 8-12 years old onstage. Please see the breakdown below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World." Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea." Additional info: Please bring an actor resume and headshot to be submitted to the production crew. All those auditioning should prepare a cut of 16-32 measures from a song of your choosing. There will be a dance call at the initial auditions. Callbacks on Wednesday, August 14th if needed. Rehearsals begin on Monday, August 26th, and will be every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Tech week will run Sunday, November 17th – Thursday, November 21, 2024. Performance dates include: November 22, 2024 @ 10:00 AM & 7:30 PM PM November 23, 2024 @ 7:30 PM November 24, 2024 @ 2:00 PM Attendance is required for all tech week dates and performance dates set forth. King of the Sea and Ariel’s father. A parent and a protector to his seven daughters. King Triton leads with authority and leadership. He is full of emotion and grief from the loss of his wife, which often guides his outlook and decision making on the way in which he rules the sea, and his role as a father.
