Kid Audition For Dancing in "Newsies Jr." Show
Kids aged 6 to 14 years old are invited to audition for the "Newsies Jr." Show. Please see the details below. About the project: Set in the vibrant world of New York City, this musical brings the inspiring story of the 1899 newsboys strike to life. Full of catchy songs, dynamic dance numbers, and heartwarming moments, Newsies Jr. is the perfect opportunity for young performers to showcase their talents and be part of a truly unforgettable experience. Whether you're a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, this show promises fun, friendship, and the chance to be a part of an incredible story. Don't miss your chance to audition and make headlines with us! Additional info: Please come prepared to sing a song from the show. Come prepared to read selections from the play which directors will have ready for you. The choreographer will teach a short dance routine, so bring comfortable clothes and shoes. Don’t be stressed…come to have fun! Please be aware of any potential schedule conflicts. There will be room on the audition form for you to list your availability. There is a mandatory adult meeting on Monday, July 15 at 6:30 PM. During the meeting, directors will get consent and health forms completed. Please have your schedule with you and be prepared to sign up. Thank you! Cast to be Announced: Friday, July 12th by Noon Read Through: July 15th at 6:30 PM Performances: August 8 & 9 at 7:30 PM and August 10 & 11 at 2:00 PM. When are rehearsals? From 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM Sunday-Thursday. Rehearsals begin Monday, July 15 at 6:30 PM and run until the show opens. Not every person is called to every rehearsal; the time commitment typically depends on the size of the role! A full rehearsal schedule will be provided as soon as possible once we start. When are the performances? August 8 & 9 at 7:30 PM and August 10 & 11 at 2:00 PM. After the August 11 performance, there is an optional cast and crew dinner provided by SCT/DCT.
