Seeking performers ages 16 and above for "Romeo and Juliet" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Romeo and Juliet, a timeless tragedy by William Shakespeare, explores the intense and doomed love between two young lovers from feuding families in Verona. Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet fall deeply in love at first sight, but their relationship faces insurmountable obstacles due to their families' long-standing animosity. Despite their secret marriage, misunderstandings and rash decisions lead to a series of tragic events, culminating in the untimely deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. Their deaths ultimately reconcile their families, highlighting the senseless nature of the feud and the profound consequences of hatred. Additional info: For consideration, please prepare a 1-minute monologue or soliloquy from a Shakespearean tragedy. (A monologue from Romeo and Juliet is welcomed) (You must have your monologue memorized at auditions). Please provide a color headshot and resume. Resumes should include a current phone number and email address. Please bring readable and clearly marked sheet music for our pianist, Music Director Jaime Ramirez. Sheet music should be in a binder and easy to page through. If necessary, callbacks for Romeo and Juliet will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 12 to 5 p.m. in the Russell Hill Rogers Theater. Be prepared to read sides from the script, which will be provided at the audition. Individual invitations will be sent directly to the email address listed on the audition form.
