Dance Opportunities for Kids in "The Sound of Music"
The musical "The Sound of Music" is looking for kids ages 6 and above. Please see the details below. About the project: Featuring cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria, and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. Additional info: Please come on time as the directors will be auditioning people in groups. Be prepared to move and have an appropriate song prepared to sing either a capella or with CD accompaniment. Performance dates will be Fridays through Sundays, November 29th through December 8th. Additional performances may be added, either on a 3rd weekend or Saturday afternoons based on ticket sales. If interested, please apply.
