About the project: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is a sung-through musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It is based on the biblical story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis. This family-friendly production features lively storytelling and memorable songs, leading to countless productions over the years. The show is a high-energy extravaganza, blending various musical and dance styles. It’s a joy for cast members to perform, regardless of their role, and an absolute delight for audiences to watch and enjoy! Additional info: Please be prepared to sing and dance. (High best to E full range Mezzo): Guides the audience through the story. Commands the stage while directing focus to story elements. Has a strong rock singing voice and moves well. Needs to be an exceptional storyteller.
(Tenor): Eleventh and favorite son of Jacob. Sweet and naïve, but confident and charming. Vocally strong and a good mover.
(Tenor or Baritone) The “King” of Egypt and a very self-important man. Strong singer and actor who can impersonate Elvis. (Will also play a Brother or Jacob)
(Baritone): A wealthy self-indulgent businessperson, who needs to be a strong actor and good singer. (Will also play a Brother or Jacob)
(Alto/Mezzo) An indulgent woman who likes to get her own way and thinks first and foremost about herself. She needs to be a confident mover/dancer. (Will also be in the ensemble)
(Tenor/Baritone) & Baker (Tenor/Baritone) Both work for Pharaoh. They need to be good singers and character actors. (Will also play a brother or Jacob)
