Seeking young talent for the upcoming singing audition for "Annie." Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on Little Orphan Annie, the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide sensation. Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the beloved show features a wonderful score written by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, including the Broadway smash hit, “Tomorrow”. With a perfect combination of street-smarts and optimism, Annie warms the hearts of the audience as we witness her rise from next to nothing in New York City. She is determined to find her parents, who left her at the orphanage years ago. Though things don’t quite work out the way she has planned, she does manage to thwart the plans of the evil Miss Hannigan and find a new family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary Grace Farrell, and her lovable pooch, Sandy. Rate: NO PAY //NON-AEA (small travel stipend available) Additional info: CALLBACKS: Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10 am-3 pm. (Includes Dance callback, Singing, and Reading sides from the show.) REHEARSALS will begin on Sunday, September 29 from 6-9 pm and continue Sunday - Thursday with rehearsals at 7-10 pm Monday-Thursday and 6-9 pm on Sundays. Children will be released by 9 pm on rehearsal nights until the directors get into run-throughs. PERFORMANCES: December 6th-22nd, Showtimes are Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 7 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. Prepare 16-32 bars of a song from a Broadway show, preferably in a style similar to the character you are auditioning for. Bring sheet music for the accompanist. Prepare and perform one of the show monologues below (does not need to be memorized.) If you are interested please apply.
