About the project: This enchanting classic of children’s literature is reimagined in brilliant musical style. Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his disabled son Colin. The estate’s many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the “Dreamers,” spirits from Mary’s past who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden’s compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal Additional info: Callbacks: Thursday, September 12th – 6 pm-7 pm Children (Invite only. Be dressed to move comfortably.) Thursday, September 12th – 7 pm-9 pm Teens & Adults (Invite only. Be dressed to move comfortably.) *Not being invited to callbacks does not mean you won’t be cast. Although theater experience is helpful, it is not required to audition. WHAT TO PREPARE: Music A verse and chorus of two contrasting pieces (each no longer than 60 seconds) Must have accompaniment (either piano or karaoke track) A pianist will be provided Speaker will be provided for phone/device There is no need to prepare a monologue or dance routine. The directors want to see your acting skills during your song. Movement/choreography will be part of callbacks.
