Casting Teen Performers for "Urinetown" Play
Looking for performers ages 13-18 years old for the "Urinetown" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: For the fall of 2024, the Star Bright Players production will be Urinetown, a sidesplitting sendup of greed, love, and revolution (and musicals!), in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, and two Obie Awards, Urinetown provides a hilarious musical satire and fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms in a hysterically funny and touchingly honest way. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! (This production is rated PG-13 by Music Theatre International.) Additional info: Auditions will consist of a vocal performance, a monologue, and a small group dance audition. -Vocals - Prepare 16-32 bars of a song (30-45 seconds) in the style of the show.
