Child and Teen Audition for Musical "Waitress"
Auditions for children and teens for the musical "Waitress". See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Waitress is based on a 2007 movie. It tells the story of Jenna, a waitress who has a talent for making pies but feels stuck in both her marriage and her job. The story features a clear message about having the courage to change your life for the better, but it also has some mature content. This includes characters kissing and more serious depictions of domestic violence (violent temper, threats, destruction of property, raising fists). Some brief strong language is included. Additional info: Tuesday, June 4 5:30-10:00, Invited Callbacks Wednesday, June 5 5:30-10:00, Potential Invited Callbacks All auditioning must prepare 16-32 bars of either 1) a song from a published stage musical (not from Waitress) or 2) a song written and recorded by Sara Bareilles. All auditioning must bring printed, marked sheet music for the live piano accompanist in their intended key, preferably in a binder. The accompanist will not transpose music at the audition, so the directors highly encourage those auditioning to be sure they have the correct music. Those singing acapella or without sheet music will not be considered. Those wanting to be considered for Earl may be asked to play guitar at callbacks if they do play. It is not required that the actor play the guitar. Please see the attachment for details. If you are interested please apply.
