Kid Actors Needed for "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Musical"

Seeking performers ages 8 and above for "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid" The Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: See Jeff Kinney’s popular character take center stage as Greg’s cartoon diary (or is it a journal?) becomes a hilarious and heartfelt musical. School can be tough. Really tough. Being the middle child can be even tougher. As Greg embarks on a quest to become popular, we meet quirky classmates Patty, Chirag, and Fregley, among many others. Standing beside him through all of this is Greg’s best friend Rowley. Will Greg’s plans to become popular lead him to sacrifice his one true friend? Can anyone avoid the dreaded Cheese Touch? Grab a hall pass and don’t be late for this hilarious musical adventure! Additional info: What to prepare: Acting: Prepare a 60 second monologue of your choice OR select from the provided sides to read from. If auditioning in person we will have someone available to read opposite of you. If submitting a video audition, please have someone out of frame read opposite of you. Music: Prepare 16-32 bars of the auditionee’s choosing OR choose to use the provided sheet music & backing track attached to the sign up link. For in-person auditions an accompanist will be available as will a bluetooth speaker & laptop for those wishing to provide their own playback or use the backing track. Acapella (without any accompaniment) singing is also acceptable. Sheet music, the backing track, and a vocal demo can be found in the registration form. Dance: Learn a dance combo! Upon arrival you will join the show’s director/choreographer to learn a short dance combo. Please wear clothing and shoes you can comfortably move around in. Callbacks will be held on the evening of Wednesday June 12th starting at 5:30pm. Rehearsals: Wimpy Kid actors must be available for weeknight & weekend rehearsals from August 3 – September 4, 2024. Rehearsals will be held at our downtown location. Performances: Wimpy Kid actors must be available for very limited weekday daytime performances as well as weekend performances from September 5 – September 22, 2024.
