Casting Teen Performers for "Jesus Christ Superstar"
Seeking performers in 6th grade and up for the "Jesus Christ Superstar" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Those auditioning should prepare an audition piece in the style of the show or from the show, no longer than 1 minute in length. Please bring sheet music in the correct key, an accompanist will be provided for you. There will be a break during the auditions for a dance call. If you are auditioning before 6:30 pm please stay for the dance call at 6:30. Those auditioning after 6:30 please arrive for the dance call ahead of your vocal audition. Those called back must attend callbacks on Tuesday evening after the second round of auditions. Rehearsals: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:00-9:00 pm beginning August 5th in Seymour, CT. Tech Week (mandatory): Saturday, 10/12- Thursday 10/17. Production Runs: October 18, 19, 20 Seymour, CT. Rock Tenor. Leader of the twelve apostles, a man, called the "Son Of God" and "King of the Jews"
Rock Tenor. Arguably the antogonist of the show. One of the twelve apostles of Jesus; concerned for the poor and the consequences of Jesus' fame.
Exotic/Beautiful Belter. A female follower of Jesus who finds herself falling in love with him. The role requires an actress that can show grace, stability, weakness and compassion.
Rock Baritone. Governor of Judea who foresees the events of Jesus' crucifixion from beginning to aftermath in a dream and finds himself being presented with that very situation.
High Baritone. The King of Galilee; Jesus is brought to him for judgment after first being taken to Pilate.
High Baritone. One of Jesus' twelve appostles; urges Jesus to lead his followers into battle against Rome.
Tenor. One of Jesus' twelve apostles; denies Jesus three times upon the night of Jesus' arrest to save himself.
Low Bass/Rocky Top. High priest who sees Jesus as a threat to the nation.
High Baritone. Fellow priest at the side of Caiaphas who is persuaded by Caiaphas into seeing Jesus as a threat.
