Young Talent Wanted for Singing Audition in "Seussical"

Kids in grades 1-12 are invited to audition for "Seussical" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "Seussical" is more than just a musical; it's a journey through the vibrant lands of the Jungle of Nool, the dazzling Circus McGurkus, and the tiny, unseen world of the Whos. Watch as Horton discovers a speck of dust harboring the tiny Whos and vows to protect them against all odds, all while facing the challenge of guarding an abandoned egg. Through trials and tribulations, the themes of friendship, loyalty, and community shine through, brought to life by a cast of characters as diverse and colorful as Seuss's stories themselves. This production isn't just for the audience; it's an open invitation for performers of all ages to dive into the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss. With roles that span the whimsical spectrum of Seuss's universe, actors have the chance to explore a range of emotions and stories! Additional info: Auditionees in grades 1-6 don't need to prepare anything for auditions. During auditions, they will be asked to learn an excerpt of a song, or a short dance combination, and will possibly read some lines from the script. Auditionees in grades 7-12 will be asked to prepare and perform one song from the selections attached. Actors will also learn a short dance routine and may be asked to read lines from the script at each audition session. Actors only need to attend one audition session unless they are asked to return for a callback audition (May 14th). Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothing suited for movement (NO CROCS, please!). Seussical will have two casts, one performing a 4-show run each weekend at CA Johnson High School. July 26-28 (CAST 1) August 2-4 (CAST 2) Please note that the participation fee is involved.
