"The Play That Goes Wrong" Show Seeks Teenagers
Audition for "The Play That Goes Wrong". Students currently in Grades 9 and up. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Callbacks (if called) will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 6:30 pm. For all roles, please prepare one of the monologues found in the attachemnt. You may also select a 1-minute comedic monologue of your own. The Cornley Drama Society stage manager. A problem solver. Nervous to step into the role of Florence, but ultimately gets confident and even competitive. Has an American accent.
The company’s lighting operator and crew lead. Usually prefers to remain backstage. Has an American accent. - will be split into 2 roles - TREVOR 2 is the company’s sound operator and Trevor’s second in command, covering for him in his absence.
Head of the Cornley Drama Society. A first time director and a decent actor, he fights to keep the show on track through the insanity around him. In addition to directing Murder at Haversham Manor, he plays Inspector Carter, the esteemed local inspector. Has an RP British accent.
Plays Charles Haversham, the deceased. Playing dead proved to be quite a challenge for him. A physically demanding role. Has an RP British accent.
Optimistic and sincere, the best-friend type. Unbothered and has difficulty adapting and learning from his mistakes. He plays Thomas Colleymoore, Charles’ old school friend. Has an RP British accent.
One of the weaker actors in the Cornley Drama Society, and has trouble pronouncing long words. Plays Perkins, Charles’ butler. Has an RP British accent.
New to acting and quite naive. Plays Cecil Haversham, Charles’ brother, and Arthur the Gardener. Has an RP British accent.
The Drama Society’s leading lady and a true diva. Plays Florence Colleymoore, Charles’ fiancee and Thomas’ sister. Physically demanding role. Has an RP British accent
