Auditions for children for the musical "Annie" are now open. Please review the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy." - Music Theatre International synopsis Additional info: Rehearsal Dates: August 4th - September 29th, 2024. Note: Normally, rehearsals run Monday - Friday, 7-9 pm. This is tentative and may change depending on the production and the director. Tech Week: September 14th-19th, 2024 Performance Dates: September 20th-29th, 2024 WHAT TO BRING: Headshot: Required Resume: Preferred, if available Monologue: Not required; cold reads will be available at the time of auditions. Dance: Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes to learn a dance combination. Song: Please prepare one of the following cuts from the show. There will be a speaker with the instrumental track accompaniment provided. Mezzo-Soprano Belter. A tough yet charming streetwise orphan. Annie is independent, hopeful, and full of life; she acts as a leader/mother figure to the other orphans and yearns for parents of her own. Looking for a strong singer and smart actress who can carry the energy of the show.

Soprano. Oliver Warbucks’s secretary; she is poised, sophisticated and savvy, yet gentle and warm. Acts as a welcoming motherly figure to Annie, and is able to access Warbucks’s gentler side.

ROOSTER HANNIGANMale17-18 y.o.All ethnicities

Tenor. The flashy, self-assured con-man of a brother to Miss Hannigan. He poses as Annie’s father in order to claim a cash reward. Should be a great mover and have excellent comedic chemistry with the actress playing Lily. A New York accent is a plus.

Soprano. Rooster’s sleazy, airheaded girlfriend. She poses as Annie’s mother in order to claim a cash reward. She should be a great mover; seductive, ditzy, and annoying, all at the same time. Should have excellent comedic chemistry with the actor playing Rooster. Squeaky-voiced New A Jersey accent is a plus.
