Young Talent Wanted for Singing Audition "The Music Man"

Seeking performers ages 10 and above for "The Music Man" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: "The Music Man" follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by the curtain’s fall. Rate: Performers under the age of 18 will be offered complimentary tickets as compensation. Additional info: Please be prepared to: – Sing 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song of your choice. You must sing with the provided accompaniment or with a device you provide. No a cappella auditions will be allowed. – Complete a dance/movement audition, taught by the show choreographer (dress appropriately). – Read from a provided monologue/dialogue from the script. – Be prepared to fill out a conflict sheet at auditions (be as specific as possible about conflicts throughout the rehearsal period). Rehearsals will begin the week of June 9. Rehearsals will generally be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30, Saturdays from 10 AM until 1/2/3 PM, and Sundays from 12 to 3 PM. Not all performers will be called for all rehearsals, especially the first two weeks. Tech week will be on Saturday, July 6, and Monday, July 8 through Thursday, July 11, 2024. No absences will be accepted during tech week or performances. Performances: July 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, 2024 at 7:30 PM July 14, 20, 21, 27, 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM Please make sure you can fully commit to the rehearsal period and performance schedule before auditioning.
