Child and Teen Singing Audition for "School Of Rock" Play

About the project: Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock is based on the hit movie and follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock – The Musical, with its sensational live kids’ rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music. May the spirit of rock be with all who pledge allegiance to Lloyd Webber’s rock and roll hit! Additional info: Production Dates: July 12 – 28, 2024 (11 performances total) No appointment is necessary. This is an open call. Registration is in the lobby and begins approximately 30 minutes before the audition time and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Rehearsals begin May 16th and continue through July 11th, 2024, and are conducted Monday through Friday from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Some weekend rehearsals will be scheduled as well primarily for band instrument rehearsals. Technical rehearsal hours are Saturday and Sunday, May 6 & 7 from 12:00 – 9:00 pm. Please prepare 16 to 64 bars of a song in the style of the show, and that shows off your vocal abilities (1-2 minutes). There will be no dance call at the first round of auditions, nor sides to read- only at callbacks. The ability to act/perform should be shown in your singing audition. Additionally, for youth roles that require the character to play an instrument (Zack, Katie, Freddy & Lawrence), you will be required to demonstrate your level of playing ability. You may choose to do this by accompanying yourself on your song or preparing a separate song on your instrument. If you are interested please apply.
