About the project: The story revolves around Caroline, a woman in her mid-thirties, who is grappling with severe insomnia and experiencing episodes of self-talk during her sleep. Seeking help, she consults Dr. Harris, a psychiatrist, who observes signs of distress and bruising on her hands. Through flashbacks, it's revealed that Caroline is trapped in an abusive relationship with her husband, Marty, and fears for the safety of their daughter, Sabana. Despite her friend Karina's advice to leave Marty, Caroline feels unable to do so due to financial constraints and concern for Sabana's well-being. Returning home, Caroline discovers a knife and hurriedly hides it, indicating her heightened fear and paranoia. As the story progresses, Caroline's anxiety mounts as she receives a call from Marty's workplace inquiring about his absence. She lies to cover for him but is visibly unsettled. In a chilling climax, Caroline confronts her reflection in the mirror, embodying her friend Karina, demanding answers about her missing daughter. However, Karina's responses are cryptic and unsettling, leaving Caroline desperate for clarity and resolution. The story ends on an eerie note as we discover Marty's lifeless body in her home, further heightening the tension and uncertainty surrounding her circumstances. The unresolved mystery of Sabana's whereabouts and the sinister presence of Karina in Caroline's psyche leave the audience with lingering questions and a sense of foreboding. Rate: Non-Union. It is an independent film/volunteer project with very limited budget, so directors do not have compensation to pay. Sabana is Caroline's daughter, a young woman on the cusp of adulthood. Despite her tender age, Sabana possesses a strong sense of independence and defiance, particularly in the face of her abusive father, Marty. She stands up for herself and her mother, Caroline, against Marty's tyranny, displaying courage and strength beyond her years. However, Sabana is also deeply affected by the trauma of her family situation, evident in her moments of vulnerability and fear.
