Casting Call for Boys and Girls for "Charlotte's Web" Play
Seeking kids ages 6-17 years old for "Charlotte's Web" Play. Please see the details below. About the project: Charlotte's Web is a story of friendship, courage, and self-sacrifice. Wilbur is a pig who finds out that he is destined for slaughter. His friend, a spider named Charlotte who lives in the doorway of his pigpen, is determined to save him; she accomplishes this by spinning words about him in her web. Additional info. A cast parent meeting, followed by a read-through for cast members, will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, April 29th. Performances will be July 18-21, 2024. A spider. Charlotte is wise and motherly to Wilbur. She cares deeply for him and sacrifices greatly for his safety. She is loved by all who know her.
A young girl. She loves Wilber and will do whatever it takes to keep him safe and happy. She is childlike and kind-hearted.
Fern’s mother. She is a tough, but loving woman. She is a “no-nonsense” farmer’s wife, so she is practical, but kind.
Fern’s Aunt. Another “no-nonsense” farmer’s wife. She loves Fern but sometimes comes off harsh in her delivery, but she means well.
A Goose. Gander’s wife. She is a silly, not too bright, character who repeats everything she says, and is part of the farm animal ensemble.
Fern and Avery’s Father. Stern father and farmer, but with a big heart.
Fern’s Brother. An ornery sibling who is always goofing off and teasing. A jokester.
Fern’s Uncle. Jolly, happy farmer. Very excited about the future of Wilbur.
Goose’s husband. Kind-hearted farm animal ensemble.
Serve as the narators for the show there are 3 of these roles.
A hired farm hand.
A loveable pig. This character must be innocent, but brave. He must be filled with wonder and everyone must fall in love with him.
A conniving, selfish rat. He is not well-liked and only looks out for what’s in it for him. He should be a bit shady and sneaky.
Big booming personality at the fair. This is a larger ensemble speaking role.
