Searching for kids ages 6 and above to perform in "Fiddler on the Roof" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The award-winning tale of Tevye the Dairyman and his family's struggles in a changing Russia is a true musical theatre tradition. Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism if Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler on the Roof's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality, and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy, and sadness. Additional info: Come prepared to sing a one-minute cut of a song of your choosing, preferably not from Fiddler on the Roof, and to read one of the prepared sides. The sides do not need to be memorized. Note: Not all characters have sides provided. If you’re interested in a role that doesn’t have a specified side, pick one of the sides available to demonstrate your acting ability. If your preferred characterhas more than one side available, please pick one you plan to read, but be prepared to read the others if asked. There will be callbacks on May 29th from 6:00-9:00 pm. These callbacks will only be for specific roles and will be by invitation. Auditioners who are asked to attend callbacks should be prepared to read from the script and perform a short cut of their assigned song from Fiddler on the Roof. Rehearsal Schedule Information: Rehearsals will typically be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and occasional Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00-9:00 until closer to show time. The official rehearsal schedule will be created with cast conflicts in mind, please plan to list any and all conflicts on your audition form in advance.
