Casting Boys and Girls for "The Sound of Music" Show

About the project: The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria, and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. Additional info: Please be prepared to sing and dance. Accompanist provided. Callbacks on Wednesday, May 22nd, 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Rehearsals will be in the evenings, primarily Monday-Thursday (6ish-9ish) in Plainfield. The table read will likely be Thursday 5/30 with music rehearsals beginning the first week of June. Depending on schedules, a few weekend rehearsals may be scheduled. No rehearsal on July 4th. Directors will attempt to manage rehearsal conflicts, however, excessive conflicts will impact casting decisions. No conflicts are accepted from July 20 through the opening day of July 26.
