Searching Teenagers for "Romeo and Juliet" Play
Audition for "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare. Casting teenagers ages 14+. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Rate: $400 base stipend, additional funds available for commuting actors. Additional info: All auditioning performers will be asked to prepare a reading of the prologue and audition side(s) for specific roles. The gender identities and pronouns of characters are subject to change depending on casting and actor preferences - actors should feel free to express interest in roles regardless of their traditional and scripted gender presentations. The Group Workshop on the 28th is available for high school actors auditioning for leading roles - this will include some warmups and Shakespeare training, followed by reading of prepared scenes in pairs and groups. Open Shakespeare Workshop (recommended for High School students) – Sunday, April 28th, 10am – 2pm Open Auditions – Monday, April 29th, 6pm – 10pm / Tuesday, April 30th, 6pm – 10pm Rehearsals will take place evenings and weekends in August, with performances scheduled to run Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from September 1st – 22nd.
