Casting Call for Boys and Girls for "Annie" Stage Play
Auditions are being held for boys and girls in 2nd through 12th grades for the stage play "Annie." Please review the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Additional info: Please note: there is a production fee applied. Performances: August 7 and 8 – 10 am August 7, 8, 9 & 10 – 7:30 pm August 10 & 11 – 2 pm Those auditioning should be prepared to list all conflicts or potential conflicts that overlap with a production’s rehearsal and performance schedule. Prepare a 1 min cut (approximately 32 bars) of a musical theater song or any song you feel confident and comfortable singing. Feel free to bring sheet music in the correct key if you would like an accompanist to play along with you, although not required. Actors may be asked to read from a selection of short sides. (baritone) – A successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish.
(soprano) – Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, gentle.
(alto) – The orphanage matron who hates children. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold.
(baritone/tenor) – Miss Hannigan’s no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man.
(soprano) – Rooster’s girlfriend, who is also out for a quick buck.
(baritone/tenor) – The ultimate radio personality. He helps Annie by broadcasting about the search for her birth parents.
(baritone) – The 32nd President of the United States and friend of Warbucks.
