Seeking kids ages 8-12 years old for an indie short film "The Thrilling Adventures of Amos Morgan". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The film follows Amos' journey to understand his single, alcoholic father. He travels to a liquor store armed with his father's ID to buy alcohol, but no matter his determination to present himself as his father, everything keeps going wrong. Eventually, on his way home, he passes by a Sunday mass service and attends service to get drunk on the Communion wine. After tasting alcohol, meeting unlikely friends, and going on the journey of a lifetime, Amos has to decide whether or not he can find contempt in the incomprehension of his father's illness. Although his face reflects how quickly he has had to grow up throughout his life, under a mop of shaggy hair, his eyes hold a childlike glimmer of curiosity that is never stifled. He holds a confidence in his mannerisms that reflects not self-confidence, but instead a hard shell layered on top of a soft boy who deeply wants to understand how people work and why they do the things they do.
An oddly short boy for his age, he has always been mistaken for younger than he is. His appearance reflects the well-cared-for household he grew up in. He isn't a rebel, not because of rebellious tendencies but instead because his parents trust him and he can snake. his way out of trouble through his puppy eyes and innocent face. He is unapologetic, unafraid to make mistakes or embarrass himself because of the judgment he has been sheltered from throughout his life.
