Kids Needed for Theatre Audition "Princess Whatsername"
Audition opportunity for children ages 5-18 for the theatre production "Princess Whatsername." Please refer to the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: With a classic fairy-tale setting, loads of exciting and hilarious roles to play, a variety of entertaining musical numbers, and a plot full of mystery and adventure, this show has it all! It begins in the Misty Forest, where a girl is sleeping all alone. But when she wakes, nothing looks familiar to her. She can’t remember anything — not where she’s from, how she got here, or even her own name! She embarks on a journey to discover her identity and meets several fairy-tale characters along the way — Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, Goldilocks, the Three Bears, Snow White, the Seven Dwarves, Cinderella, and Rapunzel to name a few. Some are helpful, some are dangerous, and some are just plain weird, but all have information to help our young girl eventually realize her true identity as a princess. As with any good fairy tale, there’s also a prince! He’s desperate to find the princess, but he’s always one step behind and inadvertently rescues and wins the hearts of all the wrong princesses! A rocking musical score adds even more fun to new takes on the stories everyone loves. Rate: This is a non-equity volunteer production. Additional info: SHOW RUNS: June 22nd- June 29th PERFORMANCES: Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays at 8 pm. Callbacks if necessary- 4/2 at 5 p.m.-8 p.m. by invitation only. Please prepare a one-minute Disney song. No a capella for anyone over 8 a piano player will not be available. Please bring your music. You may be asked to read from the script. Please bring a headshot (or current photo) and resume. If this is your first show the directors will have a form for you to fill out. READ-THROUGH AND COSTUME FITTING: 4/6 10 am-1 pm REHEARSALS: Please bring ALL CONFLICTS from 4/6-6/29 to auditions. A rehearsal schedule will be made around conflicts. (LEAD) The lost Princess is trying to find out who she is and where she belongs. She has a strong singing voice, great dancer and the ability to show a large range of emotions. She turns out to be Sleeping Beauty. She does not need to look like the traditional Sleeping Beauty.
(Major Support) Comedic Relief. Snow White is SOUTHERN & has a strong twang and can sing country music and line dance with the best of them. Must be comfortable wearing heels (cowboy boots) Being great at harmonies is a huge plus.
(MAJOR SUPPORT) It was love at first sight for this Prince but he’s lost his Princess and unfortunately doesn’t know her name. STRONG singer and great comedic timing. Must be comfortable lifting Princess Whatsername.
(MAJOR SUPPORT) HUGE personality- hard time making decisions. This adorable troublemaker has a big voice, can harmonize and line dance with Snow White. Helps Princess on her journey.
(MAJOR SUPPORT) very strong singer. Stuck in her tower. Must have comedic skills and not be scared of heights- will be in the tower 80% of the show.
(Major/ Minor) VERY OPINIONATED, very SASSY. Not your typical Cinderella. She wants to go back to the ball NOW. This curfew is for the birds! Strong singer.
(MAJOR/ MINOR) is a guide to Princess on her journey through the Misty Forest. Strong dancer/ tumbler.
