About the project: Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination. Additional info: Pre-Audition Workshop Saturday, March 30 @ 1:00 pm - The workshop will be held in the Rehearsal Hall (upstairs) at the - Actors Guild - Please enter through the black door on Market Street - The workshop will focus on the kid's roles (ages 6-10): Matilda, Bruce, Lavender, Amanda, Nigel, Eric, Alice, Hortensia, Tommy - The workshop will also be beneficial for those interested in auditioning for the older school kids (ages 12-25) - Early auditions will be held for anyone who cannot make the April auditions - Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move in - Attendees will learn about the characters in the show and get a brief synopsis of the story - Attendees will learn the dance that will be used for auditions - Attendees will sing through all of the audition music that pertains to the kid's roles - There will be a Q&A for both parents and kids at the end of the workshop.
