Teens Audition for Musical Production "Newsies"

Looking for performers in grades 9 and up for "Newsies" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: It's time to carry the banner on your stage with Disney's Newsies! Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right! Additional info: Audition requirements: 32-bar cut and one-minute monologue except for featured dancers. Speakers will be provided for tracks. Everyone must attend one of the dance calls, tap shoes are highly recommended. Cold reads will be required at the audition. Rehearsals will begin April 20th and will be Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6 pm - 9 pm and Saturdays from 9 am - 4 pm. Production Dates: June 20th - June 22nd at Hartselle High School Auditorium.
