Looking for Kids and Teens for "The Sound of Music"

Audition for the upcoming summer musical production of “The Sound of Music.” Looking for five girls and two boys. Please see the details below. About the project: A Rodgers and Hammerstein production from 1959, “The Sound of Music” is based on the real-life story of the Von Trapp Family singers and is set on the eve of World War II. Maria Rainer, a young postulant at an Austrian abbey, struggles to fit in. She is sent to the home of a widowed naval captain to serve as the governess to his seven children. Maria brings the somber and well-regulated home to life with laughter and music, rekindling affection between a father and his children. Meanwhile, Maria and Captain Von Trapp fall in love. The couple marries, however, the family finds themselves facing danger from the newly installed Nazi government and makes a narrow escape during a family singing performance. Additional info: Auditioners should come prepared to do a cold reading and with a song to sing for 30 seconds that can be performed either acapella or along with a YouTube karaoke track. A speaker will be provided. No experience is necessary to audition for “The Sound of Music.” Production dates are June 21-23 and June 28-30, 2024. Rehearsals will begin on April 9.
