Child Audition for Musical "Oliver"
Seeking actors ages 10 and above for "Oliver" Production. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of petty thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family. Additional info: Please prepare a one-minute song from the musical or in the style of the musical. (Optional: Actors may additionally choose to also prepare a one-minute monologue from the musical or in the style of the musical). Actors will need to bring their own accompaniment on their phones. Callbacks: Friday, March 8 from 6-10 pm. First Rehearsal: Tuesday, March 19 from 6-10 pm. Rehearsals: All will be called Tuesdays from 6-10 pm. Younger actors will be released at 9 pm (with some exceptions). Additional smaller group rehearsals will be held on Thursdays from 6-10 pm and Sundays from 1-5 pm (with some occasional Saturdays from 9 am-noon instead). Show dates: JUNE 27–30, 2024.
