About the project: Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning smash hit musical premiered on Broadway in 2015, and has since been seen on stages around the globe. Based on the hilarious hit movie, this new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band – performed live by the production’s talented young musicians every night! Onstage Guitar, A3-D5 Zack is the band’s lead guitarist and also a talented songwriter. They desperately want to impress their father, who’s usually too busy with work to take an interest in his family.
A3-G5 New student Tomika is struggling to fit in at Horace Green. They conquer their shyness to reveal their phenomenal singing ability and become a lead vocalist alongside Dewey in the band.
Onstage Piano/Keyboard, A3-D#5 Awkward and lacking in confidence, Lawrence is hesitant to attempt something “cool” like joining a band, but they soon turn out to be a fantastic keyboardist.
Onstage Bass Guitar, A3-D#5 Quiet and serious, Katie already played the cello, but switched to bass at Dewey’s suggestion to fill out the band.
Onstage Drums, A3-D5 Freddie loves a bit of rowdiness and noise, making them a great drummer. Their own father doesn’t see their ability, constantly belittling his child.
