Audition for "Seussical" Musical Production. Looking to cast kids and teens. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Performance Dates: June 20, 21 & 22 at 8:00 p.m. June 22 & 23 at 2:00 p.m. Callbacks (if needed) will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. All performers should be prepared to sing a 32-bar cut of a musical theater piece of their choice. Bring a copy of your sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. In addition to a song, auditioners will be asked to read sides from Seussical. Please note that the fee applies. Our story's omniscient narrator, he is fun loving and enjoys rhyming. Pops up throughout the story to help the audience. Wise and attentive. Vocal range: F2-F4
The Mayor's child, they are a Who that is always finding trouble. Bright, creative, and inadvertently mischievous. Possesses a wildly expansive imagination and finds solace in their friendship with Horton. Vocal range: Ab3-C5
Mayzie’s entourage and backup singer/dancers. They act as a Greek style chorus to tell the story throughout the show. Must be good movers and vocalists.
Jojo’s father, and the mayor of Whoville. He tries to keep the town happy and secure, which is quite a job since the tiny Whos are always in danger of being swept away and lost.
The Mayor’s Wife and JoJo’s Mom. Her and her husband try hard to raise a difficult child in a difficult world. They may get aggravated with JoJo, but they love him dearly and try to do the right thing, even if it turns out to be a mistake. Must be a strong singer and actor.
A Who. A General who is bursting with pride at the military academy he runs, and the boys he turns out. He is not mean; he honestly thinks he is doing the right thing and is making the world a better place. Strong singer/actor with comic ability.
