"Ragtime" Teen Audition for the Theater
Looking for boys and girls ages 16+ for "Ragtime" show. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: This production will be performed off-book with immersive staging and a 26-piece on-stage orchestra. Additional info: Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, February 8th, from 7:30 pm-9:30 pm. All those called back will be notified following auditions on Monday evening, February 5th, and will be given a selection of material from the show to have prepared for the callback. Rehearsals will be primarily on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday evenings starting in April. Tech rehearsals with the orchestra will be from May 15th through May 17th. Performances will be Saturday, May 18th at 7:30 pm and Sunday, May 19th at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Those auditioning should prepare 16-32 bars of music from a musical theatre song. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. The director/music director may ask you to sing/read selections from the show at auditions. Mother's professionally successful husband. Fancies himself an amateur explorer, he is commanding and attractive. Enjoys being the family breadwinner, a traditionalist. (Range: A2-F4)
Washwoman. Sarah is a young African-American woman, beautiful and filled with a strong will to live, fueled by an innocent spirit. Falls deeply in love with Coalhouse after much resistance. (Range: G#3-F#5)
