Girls & Boys Needed for "Children's Letters to God" Show

Kids between the ages of 8 and 17 are invited to audition for "Children’s Letters to God". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Children’s Letters to God, is a refreshingly comical 75-minute musical that asks some very serious questions such as, “Dear God: If you’re so famous how come you’re not on TV?” or “Dear God, Do fish have a clue that it’s raining?” and “Dear God, Who says ‘God bless you’ when YOU sneeze?” Through a series of short scenes and songs, Children’s Letters of God follows the lives of a group of children and their questions as they explore timeless issues such as friendship, sibling rivalry, divorce, holidays, loss of pet, first love, and more. The show carries a universal message that crosses the boundaries of age, location, and religion. Just as in the book, the musical is not specifically religious in nature. It's about children and the countless events in their lives that lead them to ask a lot of questions – some funny, some serious, some surprising. Additional info: Please prepare 32 bars of a contemporary musical theater piece (not from the show). An accompanist will be available at auditions or pieces can be performed with a musical track, instrumental only. Auditions will start with introductions and some group movement exercises. Please bring conflicts through performance dates. The rehearsal schedule will be created around cast conflicts. There will be a read-through on 12/14 with the cast. If interested, please apply.
