Seeking Kids & Teens for "The Little Mermaid" Show
Disney’s "The Little Mermaid" is looking for actors ages 8 and above. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea. Additional info: AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Please arrive 20 min early to get parked and sign in. Dress professionally. Bring a current headshot and resume. Bring a list of conflicts from December 18th - January 20th. Conflicts during tech week and performances will not be accepted. Two contrasting 32-bar cuts (or 60-second cuts) in the style of the show. Bring sheet music properly marked and in the desired key. An accompanist will be provided. Tracks are allowed, but not preferred as this show will be performed with a live orchestra. Callbacks will be by invitation only and held Saturday, December 16th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Performance Dates: January 26 & 27, 2024. 7:30 pm. Both performances will include a live orchestra. Rehearsals will begin Monday, December 18th, and will be held at Fort Worth Country Day in Fort Worth, TX. On January 8th, rehearsals will move to a new location (TBD) in Fort Worth, TX. Rehearsals will run Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. Tech week begins January 22, 2024. If interested, please apply.

Lead, Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano, G#3/Ab3 - F♯5/G♭5. A strong-willed teenage mermaid who longs to be human. She possesses a keen curiosity for the world both under and above the sea, much to the chagrin of her father, King Triton. Big-hearted, she’s more accepting of and delighted by others’ differences than most of her fellow merfolk, but she also has a rebellious streak that can get her into trouble. Must be able to move. Will perform on Heelies.
Lead, Vocal Range: Baritone, B2 - G4 The adventurous human monarch who captures Ariel’s heart. Charming and sensitive in nature, he has a warm voice and demeanor that evoke his flair for romance. There is also a stubborn side to the Prince who is determined to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. Must be able to move.
Supporting, Vocal Range: Tenor, Treble/Boy Soprano, A2 - G4 Flounder is Ariel's sincere and sensitive best friend who is loyal to the end. This spunky fish also has a show-stopping solo in "She's in Love." A wonderful role for a younger performer who is ready to take the next step into the spotlight. May be required to perform on Heelies.
