Child Acting for Upcoming "Starlight" Student Film
Opportunity for child actors in an upcoming "Starlight" film. Kindly refer to the details provided below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Film/Video: Voice-over Narration. Far in the future, humans have attempted to establish a new home on Mars, with the help of incredible advancements in android technology and AI. It didn't go well. The androids are built to follow a specific set of rules, even if those rules are detrimental to humans. With humanity dying off, small groups of robots have formed familial-like units to survive and complete their ultimate task. One of these groups comes across a baby girl who isn't being poisoned by the hostile environment. By taking in this little girl the group navigates ethical situations, the relationship between humans and robots, threats to the girl, and navigating how to be a family in a world that was not made for them. Rate: No pay. Additional info: Rehearsals Begin: October 23, 2023. Run/Shoot: April 8, 2024 – April 12, 2024. This project will be performed as a recorded podcast. Prepare a roughly one-minute contemporary monologue. This can be a live Zoom audition or a self-tape. Child actors must do a live Zoom audition (to assess reading capabilities and skills). Keep in mind that this is a vocal performance. The directors are looking for strong voice work and confidence in recording. Callbacks, if needed, will be the first week of October. This rehearsal process will not be conventional. There will be large group rehearsals every other week and a few individual rehearsals for character work. Typically, it will rehearse in the afternoons and evenings. Please state if that will be an issue. Willing to work around your schedule. Deadline by the end of September. She’s a child who would ask “But why” for hours. Seeking an actor of any ethnicity. Vocal Type: Feminine. The actor needs to be able to portray the sound of a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old. This can be cast as two different actors if needed.
A very careful child who knows how dangerous the world is. He is apprehensive at times, but there’s a part of him that is a regular child trying to make friends.
