About the project: "Beaches" The Musical, based on the novel by Iris Rainer Dart, which was made into a blockbuster film starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey, follows two friends through 30 years of camaraderie, laughter, sorrow, and love. Additional information: This production will mark the international premiere of Beaches the Musical as the final show of Theatre Calgary's upcoming 2023-24 season. POINT OF ORIGIN: Calgary, Alberta. TO PLAY 9-10 YRS OLD. Already a diva at age nine, Little Cee Cee is the star of her dancing school recitals. She is spectacularly talented, not just for her age, but for any age. She has wild hair, loves quirky, sparkly clothes and has a vocabulary of adult words, many of them outrageously inappropriate. As a result of all of that, she has probably never had a friend her own age - until she meets her BBF “Bertie’.
