NOW CASTING - The Real Marlo Docuseries
Are you a fan of the hit crime drama series, The Wire? Would you like to be part of telling the real life story of its star and Baltimore street legend, Marlo Stanfield? Now casting for people for re-enactments in our upcoming docuseries, "The Real Marlo". The docuseries encompasses Marlo's life from childhood to adulthood and this is the first time details of young Marlo's life are being revealed and re-enacted, so we are looking for strong young actors to play Marlo and his siblings. We are looking for ages from 8-16. Please note: Children auditioning must be comfortable with profanity in their lines and must be local to the DMV for shooting. Shoot dates are 8/14-8/19. Innocent and “soft” compared to his siblings. A happy kid who has a vivid imagination, who likes school and likes to make up stories, which is some "bitch shit" according to the rest of his family. He looks up to his more hardcore brothers and sisters and endures frequent sibling abuse under the guise of love because he wants to be accepted but always feels like “he was adopted” because he doesn't like fighting like the others.
Having left school he now begins to fully embrace street life and becomes aware of his brawn as a fighter and his talents with a blade and knife. He has a rare character of loyalty and honor years beyond his age.
The most compassionate, took on the mother role when Rosetta (mother) was down. Was taught to steal at 11 as the “booster” of the family to provide for her and her siblings.
Wild and unfiltered, she speaks her mind and will tell you to your face. She is impulsive and unpredictable and doesn't always think her actions through, but you will always get the truth from Morn.
A smart, girly girl with a big heart, tough like her mother and the most feared sister. If something tough needed to be done, she would figure out a way to get it done.
Nicknamed T, he and Marlo were close in age and looked like twins. T was funny, sharp and calculating and often ordered Marlo around. He was always getting into some kind of mischief – stealing tires, beating people up – and then Marlo would get blamed.
Called “Crazy Ricky” because he wasn’t right in his head. Always emotionally detached he was paranoid and claimed to hear voices. He believed the TV and radio were listening to him and he claimed he worked for the FBI. He would do strange things like smell glue for 3 days.
Same age as Marlo, disheveled, wearing clothes and shoes too big for him, accused of bad hygiene like Marlo.
