About the project: An epic “musical within a comedy”, this brilliantly funny Tony Award-winner is a celebration of the American musical that harkens back to the jazz age of the 1920s. When a loyal fan shares a rare recording of his favorite musical, the characters come to life in an exciting tale of love and delight that leaves audiences breathless. A wedding, gangsters disguised as pastry chefs, and a drunk chaperone are just a few of the ingredients in this delicious farcical treat that is fun for the whole family. Additional info: BE PREPARED!! VOCAL: If you know the show and are interested in a specific part the company encourages you to sing one of the songs for that role at your audition if the specific song is noted with a character description. Come prepared to show why you should play a role in production. If you don’t know the show or would rather not sing from the show, please prepare a 32-bar cut of a standard Broadway show tune, showcasing your vocal range. Please provide your own background track, Bluetooth friendly, if desired, or you may sing acapella. **If you are interested in the role of Man in Chair, prepare a 1-2 minute comedic monologue. DANCE: Wear proper attire for possible dance/movement auditions. ACTING: Cold reading from the script is possible, time will be provided to prepare. CALLBACKS: TO BE ANNOUNCED PRODUCTION DATES: October 6, 7, 13, 14 & 15, 2023. Fri/Sat at 7:30 pm | Sun at 3:00 pm. *Auditioners MUST be available for ALL performance dates, and tech week October 1-5, 2023.
